undergarments
Undergarments must be clean and free of any odors.
Deodorant
Deodorant is highly recommended for boys 10yrs & older.

All Parents

  • Coaches are available and have volunteered to coach. We are always looking for new RUTGERS SAFETY certified volunteers. Parents, let the coaches coach.
  • Please encourage your wrestler to write down notes when they get home from practice to help remember the moves and exercises they worked on. A general wrestling journal is a nice idea.
  • Encourage your wrestler to do exercises at home (hand grips, pull ups, push ups etc).
  • All wrestlers are strongly advised to have anti-bacterial wipes to wipe off hands arms and necks after practice or matches and when home, shower and use DEFENSE Soap or an antibacterial soap and Selsun Blue for their hair and body. This prevents the spread of any germs.
  • Any suspect skin lesions will be taped and covered and will require a doctor’s note.

Practice Gear

  • Wrestling Shoes (on and tied prior to practice start)
  • Shorts and Shirt
  • Bottle of Water (no soda machines can be used)
  • Headgear (fit prior to practice)
  • Team Issued Draw String Bag (for all items)

Important Note - Please Label All Wrestlers Belongings. There are a lot of wrestlers in the room and want to make sure no one accidentally takes someone else’s things.

Match Day Gear

ALL WRESTLERS MUST WEAR ONLY NORTHERN HIGHLANDS ISSUED APPAREL AT NORTHERN HIGHLANDS LEAGUE EVENTS!
  • Team-Issued Singlet Only
  • Team-Issues Warm-Ups Only (Shirt, Sweatshirt & Pants)
  • Headgear (No mention of Clubs on Headgear)
  • Wrestling Shoes
  • Bottle of Water
It is now Twin County Junior Wrestling League (TCJWL) Policy that all participating wrestlers must wear team-issued apparel only. No Club Wrestling Attire is permitted to be worn by any wrestler during any TCJWL or NH Match. This will result in the head coach asking for parents to remove your wrestler from the event floor until their attire is changed. This was cause serious infractions against our team from the league. No exceptions will be made!

K-4th Parents:

  • Our emphasis is on fun while allowing participants to gain a feel for the sport. We expect exemplary behavior during practice and matches. Older and more experienced wrestlers are encouraged to coach younger less experienced wrestlers. Again, we are very strict.
  • Age brackets for league tournaments are set-up as 8u (ages 7-8), 10u (ages 9-10), 12u (ages 11-12), 14u (ages 13-14) for this group. Coaches expect all wrestlers to participate in rec weekend matches and we will advise if other tournaments are a good fit.
